Club World Cup: Maresca drops four players from Chelsea squad
Enzo Maresca

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has dropped four players from his squad for the Club World Cup which kicks off this weekend.

At least £150m worth of talent including Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix have been acxed.

The Blues are preparing to travel to the US over the next days.

Chelsea will play MLS side LAFC in the group stage ahead of fixtures against Flamengo and Tunisian outfit Esperance.

Sterling will be left at home, following his dreadful loan spell with Arsenal last season, while £45m signing Felix who was also on loan at AC Milan, has also been axed.

Defender Axel Disasi is also among those to have been omitted after spending the second-half of last season with Aston Villa.

However, the most surprising call is potentially the decision to drop goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

Petrovic was expected to step up after Chelsea failed to sign Mike Maignan from AC Milan.

He kills himself has more money Balotelli on why he couldn t reach Ronaldo s level
Former Italy International, Mario Balotelli, has revealed why he did not reach the heights of Cristiano Ronaldo’s career. The Ghanaian born Italian footballer said he could not reach that level of football because he does not possess the Portuguese legend’s work ethic.Balotelli was one of the highly rated strikers as a young footballer, but he, as many football fans would believe, was unable to live up to the promise of his talent.Balotelli has played for Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool, Marseille, OGC Nice, Monza, and Adana Demirspor in his storied career. The Italian forward, who is still in active football, told Rai2 why he never reached the level of the former Man United, Real Madrid and Juventus man.As quoted by Goal, the Italian said, “He [Ronaldo] kills himself with training, I don’t… He has more money! I could have done more, but I’m happy.“I thank the fans who love me, but I made the wrong choice for the type of club.“It’s unlikely that I will play again in Italy or Europe. I will play for two or three years before I stop.”Balotelli laces his boots for Italian Serie A side, Genoa and his deal expires this summer. The former Manchester City man further revealed that he would be moving to the Major League Soccer, MLS, when his deal expires.“Yes, America. I will play two or three years before I stop,” he said.Ronaldo was handed his second golden boot in his second season in the Saudi Pro League on Monday. The Portugal national team captain, however, announced that his chapter with Al-Nassr may have come to an end.Ronaldo is said to have concluded arrangements to join Al Nassr’s rivals, Al Hilal in order to participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.At 40, the former Real Madrid attacker is showing no sign of slowing down as he hopes to become the first footballer ever to score 1000 career goals.
